Job Title: Drama Technician
Location: Nottingham
Salary: £95-£135 per day (Depending on experience)
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time
Bring productions to life across academic and co-curricular shows—lighting, sound, rigging, set/props, and costume support. You’ll also assist in lessons, manage equipment, and help lead a student production team. Some evenings/weekends for rehearsals/performances.
Key Responsibilities
* Technical support for all productions (lighting, sound, rigging, get-ins/outs).
* Assist with music events; maintain theatre/music equipment.
* Build sets/props; source/make costumes; support make-up.
* Support lesson delivery with resources/technical input.
* Lead a student Production Team activity; plan and deliver sessions.
* Manage venue booking diary and support events (e.g., open evenings).
* H&S: inspections, risk assessments, servicing; keep spaces safe and tidy.
* General admin: displays, cataloguing student work, ordering stock.
* Annual residential trip to London.
Key Requirements
* Experience with theatre tech (lighting desks, sound mixers, rigging).
* Practical skills in set/prop construction and basic costume/make-up support.
* Strong H&S awareness; confident with risk assessments.
* Clear communicator; enjoys working with young people.
* Organised, reliable, and able to meet deadlines in a busy setting.
* Comfortable with IT/online platforms for scheduling and resources.
* Flexible team player; willing to work some evenings/weekends.
* Proactive learner committed to ongoing training/development.
* Safeguarding: This role involves working with young people; an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references are required.
