SEN Teaching Assistant – Mainstream Primary School
Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent (Full-Time)
Salary: £95–£105 per day (PAYE)
The School and Role
Vision for Education is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a supportive mainstream primary school in Northampton. This role involves providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with special educational needs, helping them to access the curriculum and thrive in a nurturing learning environment.
The position is best suited to someone who has experience supporting children with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties. While a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification is preferred, proven experience in a UK school setting is essential.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
1. Experience working with children with SEND in a UK school setting (essential)
2. A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3) – preferred
3. Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
4. Effective behaviour management strategies
5. A calm, resilient and proactive attitude
6. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
