About the Role We have a vacancy for an Operations Technician working 12-hour shifts following a 4-on/6-off shift pattern (during the summer this changes to 4-on/4-off shift pattern to allow for a longer summer break). In this role will be responsible for ensuring that breakdowns/stops/efficiency issues on shift are solved effectively and quickly in order to meet business needs across the whole factory including in our stock prep area, our papermaking department, as well as in our converting, logistics and service functions. What You Will Do You will be responsible for assisting with preventing re-occurrence of equipment failures through root cause analysis and initiating solutions, providing safety recommendations and solutions to potential electrical hazards. You will also support and promote a preventative maintenance culture into our shift teams focusing on continuous improvement and getting involved in projects to increase efficiency in line with site objectives. In all areas of work you will be put safety first and ensure all work is completed to the necessary company standards. Who You Are You will have strong electrical skills and have developed diagnostic and analytical skills. In addition, you must be able to prioritise, and be self-motivated, proactive, reliable and flexible in your approach to work. Your natural work focus will be demonstrated through your commitment to safety and continuous improvement. Ideally qualified to Higher National Certificate level in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, you must have completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship and have an understanding of Siemens S5 and S7 PLC’s.
