Job Title: 1:1 Tutor (Home & School Settings) Location: Northampton Area Hours: During school hours (typically 8:30am – 3:30pm, flexible depending on placement) Pay: Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience and qualifications) About the Role: We are seeking dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Tutors to support pupils in the Northampton area, either in their homes or within school settings. This role involves working with students who may require additional academic support due to a variety of needs, including SEND, SEMH, or those currently out of mainstream education. Key Responsibilities: Deliver tailored, engaging 1:1 lessons aligned with the pupil’s individual learning plan Support pupils in core subjects such as English, Maths, and/or Science Adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles and needs Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to support engagement and progress Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress regularly Work collaboratively with schools, parents, and other professionals Requirements: Experience working with children or young people (teaching, tutoring, or support work) Strong understanding of the UK curriculum Ability to differentiate learning effectively Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule Desirable: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification Experience with SEND/SEMH pupils Own transport and willingness to travel within Northampton What We Offer: Flexible working opportunities during school hours Competitive rates of pay Ongoing support from our experienced team Opportunities for long-term placements If you are passionate about making a difference in a child’s education and enjoy working in a flexible, rewarding role, we would love to hear from you.
