The role
Our Leakage infrastructure department plays a significant part in our overall leakage management strategy.
As a Leakage Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance all leakage infrastructure assets (district flow meters, pressure reduction valves (PRVs) and remote data loggers) within a defined area of the Business, the operability of which impacts the ‘Prevention’, ‘Awareness’ & ‘Locate’ elements of our PALM (Prevent, Awareness, Locate, Mend) leakage management strategy. Undertaking all of this in a safe, high performing and efficient way.
What you'll be doing
1. Servicing our PRV assets
2. Calibration and verification of district flow meters
3. Replacement of loggers and transmitters
4. Identify, investigate, and implement solutions for faulty equipment
5. Commissioning of new schemes/assets
6. Supervise and specify our requirements to construction gangs undertaking leakage infrastructure works
7. Complete planned and reactive flushing activities on the network if required to enable infrastructure maintenance and commissioning
8. Investigate operational supply and pressure issues, identifying and successfully implementing solutions
9. Contribute to zero harm culture by ensuring all activities are carried out in safe manner
10. Participate on the PRV standby rota.
What you need:
11. Understanding of water supply networks and associated equipment
12. Competence in PRV and meter maintenance
13. Competence in remote data logging equipment/systems and their installation and repair
14. Network operations (valving/flushing) experience
15. Confident in the use of a computer for emails, recording activity etc
16. Full UK Driving License
