Job Title – Telemedicine Optometrist
* About the Role:
A challenging and varied opportunity has arisen for a skilled telemedicine optometrist to join our team in Glasgow City Centre.
As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality clinical eye care services to patients.
Your duties may include:
* Providing care to patients via telemedicine, communicating with them to assess their needs and develop effective treatment plans;
* Triage of referrals from optometrists, GPs, and other primary care routes, allocating them to the most suitable ophthalmology clinic;
* Clinical support to the administrative team as required;
* Collaboration with operations and clinical leads to identify areas for improvement in service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Communicate effectively with patients via telemedicine, assessing their needs and developing tailored treatment plans;
* Review incoming referrals and allocate them to the most suitable ophthalmology clinic;
* Provide clinical support to the administrative team when necessary;
* Contribute to the identification of areas for improvement in service delivery through collaboration with operations and clinical leads.
Requirements:
* Mandatory qualifications include a degree in Optometry, registration with the relevant professional bodies, and experience working in a similar environment;
* Familiarity with telemedicine systems and software is essential;
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to work effectively with patients, colleagues, and stakeholders;
* The ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly is also essential.
