The role
As a Project Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be at the heart of delivering complex and high-value infrastructure projects that support national defence. You’ll take ownership of projects from business case through to handover, ensuring delivery to time, cost and quality. Day-to-day you’ll be:
1. Leading the delivery of construction and engineering infrastructure projects
2. Developing project briefs and coordinating design production
3. Managing tender processes and securing client funding
4. Supervising contractors during implementation
5. Overseeing the handover process to ensure successful project completion
This role is full time, 36 hours per week Monday to Thursday 07:45 – 16:45, and provides hybrid working arrangements.
Essential experience of the Project Manager
6. Proven experience managing construction or engineering infrastructure projects
7. Familiarity with standard forms of contract such as NEC4 or JCT
8. Understanding of RIBA Plan of Work stages
9. Knowledge of Principal Designer responsibilities under CDM regulations
10. Ability to work effectively both independently and within teams
Qualifications for the Project Manager
11. Minimum HNC in a relevant discipline (Building Construction, Project Management, Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering)
12. Full membership or working towards full membership of RICS or CIOB (preferred)
13. APM Project Management Qualification (preferred but not essential)
