JOB: Mechanical Design Engineering Manager
LOCATION: Liverpool
TERM: Permanent
SALARY: GBP 60,000 : GBP 65,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
My client is a specialist manufacturer within the Instrumentation sector. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineering Manager to join their team in Liverpool on a permanent basis.
Qualifications
* BSc / BEng in Mechanical Engineering or similar
* 5 or more years' of industry experience working in similar Mechanical Engineering Manager/Management role
* Proven ability to take products from conceptual design to being sold commercially
* Experienced setting up and implementing new ERP systems
* Experienced managing teams
* Ideally be experienced leading development for components from concept to production
* Proficiency with CAD software: ideally SolidWorks or similar
* Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, process equipment, hydraulics or similar industry experience would also be beneficial
* Ability to drive Engineering development
* Good mathematical and general engineering knowledge
* Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials: sheet metal, castings, machining, fabrication etc.
* Good knowledge of process equipment and ancillary equipment
* The ability to understand system requirements
* Be self-motivated with excellent attention to detail
* Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Responsibilities
* Managing a team working on the company's product range
* Being involved with Engineering/Design as well as overseeing New Product Development and Introduction processes
* Taking things from concept to launch
* Helping to develop existing products on a technical level
* Liaising with customers as required keeping them up to date with project progress
* Producing technical drawings as needed
* Driving continuous improvement
* Offering technical support
* Sourcing and selecting components that are required
