Job Purpose
To manage a caseload of Fast Track RTA cases through all stages of investigation and litigation.
To deliver robust, quality claims handling with a focus on client outcomes, generating fee income, and contributing to the overall success of the business.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Manage a high volume caseload of Fast Track Personal Injury RTA claims using the firm's Case Management Systems and internal procedures.
2. Ensure timely, professional, and appropriate legal advice to clients, maintaining regular contact and managing expectations.
3. Handle cases involving denial of liability and causation arguments with minimal supervision.
4. Assess liability and quantum by reviewing medical reports, researching case law, drafting schedules of damages, and evaluating compensation awards.
5. Identify early cases suitable for litigation and proceed expeditiously.
6. Adopt a practical and commercial approach to settlements and advise clients on litigation and cost risks.
7. Achieve and exceed targets related to profit costs and case issuing without compromising integrity.
8. Coordinate with sources, medical agencies, experts, insurers, and relevant parties to proactively progress cases.
9. Attend court hearings when appropriate, representing clients and instructing Barristers as needed, in line with internal policies.
10. Perform well in a target-oriented environment.
11. Undertake additional tasks deemed relevant and reasonable by the business.
Experience and Knowledge
1. Extensive experience managing a caseload of Fast Track RTA litigated claims.
2. Strong litigation, drafting, and negotiation skills, with the ability to settle cases appropriately and timely.
3. Good knowledge of CPR, relevant legislation, and case law.
4. Proficiency with case management systems and MS Office.
5. Attention to detail and organizational skills.
6. Commitment to delivering quality client and firm service.
