Offer description

We’re building something powerful. Let’s build it together.
We've delivered high-performance embedded computing solutions for four decades across industries including defence, telecoms, and aerospace. We’re proud to be experts in what we do and are looking for more brilliant people to join our team.

The Role

As our Payroll Specialist, you’ll be the go‑to expert who keeps everything running like clockwork. You’ll take ownership of delivering accurate, timely payroll that our people can rely on, tackling the details with confidence and spotting opportunities to make our processes sharper and smarter.

Whether you’re looking for a full‑time role or part‑time opportunity, we’re open to both - what matters most is your expertise and energy. If you love precision, pace, and making a real impact, this role will keep you energised!

What will I be delivering?
You'll take the lead on delivering a smooth, accurate and reliable payroll service across the business, including:

* Keeping our monthly payroll running smoothly, managing all changes such as starters, leavers, contract updates and tax code adjustments (including future BIK changes).

* Ensuring every payment, from statutory leave to salary sacrifice schemes, is calculated correctly and delivered on time.

* Preparing and submitting all statutory returns, including P11Ds, HMRC filings and pension uploads, with confidence and precision.

* Supporting audit requirements with well‑organised records and transparent processes.

* Providing clear, professional responses to queries from employees, managers, clients and external partners.

* Supplying meaningful payroll reporting, such as Gross to Net insights to help stakeholders understand costs and make informed decisions.

* Adhoc financial tasks

* Working with our IT team on system upgrades, testing and enhancements to keep payroll technology up to date and efficient.

* Continually refining procedures to ensure guidance notes, workflows and controls stay accurate and easy to follow.

What do I need to bring with me?

* Payroll expertise: Solid experience in payroll and a readiness to step into a role within a growing, fast‑moving organisation.

* Technical confidence: Strong working knowledge of payroll systems and the curiosity to stay up to date as they evolve.

* Analytical mindset: Someone who digs into the detail, isn’t afraid to question how things are done, and can suggest practical, compliant solutions.

* Great communication: Great communication: The ability to build positive working relationships across People, Finance and Operations, and to explain payroll information clearly — whether you’re discussing technical details with specialists or supporting employees with everyday queries.

* Strong organisation: Able to juggle multiple tasks, prioritise effectively and deliver to deadlines without compromising accuracy.

* Qualifications (desirable): Ideally qualified in payroll practices (CIPP or equivalent), or working towards this.
