About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and qualified
Health & Safety Manager
to ensure the smooth operation of a leading health, fitness, and leisure facility. In this role, you will act as Duty Manager on a regular basis, overseeing daily compliance, maintaining high standards of safety, and managing both staff and contractors. You will be responsible for creating a safe and welcoming environment where both employees and members can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as Duty Manager, ensuring daily operations run smoothly and safely.
* Ensure all health, safety, and compliance regulations are met and documented.
* Lead and manage a team, ensuring all staff are trained to the required standards.
* Oversee and manage a team of self-employed contractors.
* Maintain and improve facility operations, ensuring the club is safe, compliant, and well-maintained.
* Champion a culture of safety, wellbeing, and excellent customer service.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
* An IOSH, NEBOSH, or equivalent recognised Health & Safety qualification.
* A Facilities Management qualification (HND, Diploma, or equivalent).
* Strong knowledge and experience of Health & Safety regulations and compliance.
* Proven experience managing facility maintenance and operations.
* Previous experience managing a team in a customer-facing, service-led environment (e.g., leisure, hospitality, retail, or attractions).
* A passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
