About the Role
As Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in delivering excellent standards of care in line with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, the Quality Standards, and the SCCIF framework. You will provide day-to-day leadership, ensure compliance with safeguarding requirements, and contribute to creating a positive, supportive, and therapeutic environment for our children.
Key Responsibilities

Assist the Registering Manager in the operational running of the home.
*
Lead and motivate the care team to deliver outstanding outcomes for children.
*
Oversee rota management, staff supervision, and performance monitoring.
*
Ensure compliance with Ofsted requirements, policies, and procedures.
*
Maintain accurate records in line with statutory requirements (e.g., Regulation 35 & Schedule 4 records).
*
Support with admissions, care planning, and placement transitions.
*
Champion safeguarding and escalate concerns in line with local authority and regulatory procedures.
*
Participate in the on-call rota to provide 24/7 leadership support.
Requirements
*
Minimum Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – Level 5 in Leadership & Management desirable.
*
Experience in a supervisory/management role within a children’s residential home.
*
Strong knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and Ofsted inspection requirements.
*
Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
*
Commitment to trauma-informed practice and positive behaviour support.
