Bookkeeper | Practice | Lisburn Reed Accountancy & Finance is delighted to collaborate with a well-established and reputable accountancy practice in Lisburn. We are actively recruiting for a Bookkeeper in a permanent, office-based role that offers flexible hours, part-time or full-time (4 or 5 days per week).
The Role
Working as part of a small team, the Bookkeeper will be responsible for:
1. Recording and processing financial transactions for clients, including sales, purchases, receipts, payments, invoices, and bank reconciliations.
2. Ensuring transactions are recorded in the correct ledgers and journals, following accounting standards and principles.
3. Preparing and filing VAT returns, payroll taxes, and other statutory returns for clients.
4. Assisting accountants with preparing year-end accounts, tax returns, and other financial reports.
5. Preparing for Making Tax Digital.
6. Communicating with clients and responding to their queries and requests.
7. Maintaining and organizing accounting files and documents.
8. Performing other bookkeeping and administrative tasks as required.
The Person
The ideal candidate will have:
* Proven experience as a bookkeeper or accounting technician in an accountancy practice or similar environment.
* Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar.
* Knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and practices.
* Accuracy and attention to detail.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* AAT qualification or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
