Evodia Limited is currently helping our client, a respected organisation in the Defence domain, to find a Lead Safety Engineer based in Bristol, with flexible hybrid working arrangements. This is a contract role until September 2026, with scope for extension, along with a day rate ranging from £570 to £770 (Inside IR35).

About the Role
In this position, you will operate within the Land Domain, leading an Acquisition Safety Team involved in high-stakes activities. Your key responsibilities will include overseeing safety in the Op A \"Design Hub\" within the Support Plans team, working closely with the Land Environment Director and the National Armaments Directorate. Your role will involve regular reporting, both weekly and bi-weekly, and collaboration with the NAD team to ensure all safety and environmental standards are met. This role offers a unique blend of remote work and essential site visits:
* Weekly visits to Bristol for meetings (included within the day rate).
* Fortnightly visits to Coventry to engage with suppliers (expenses can be claimed).
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will bring:
* Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
* Expert or Practitioner status in System Safety disciplines.
* Membership of a recognised Professional Safety or Engineering Institute.
* Extensive experience using ASEMS and System Safety Management Tools.
* Proven leadership experience managing a safety team within high-risk operations.
* Relevant Level 6 qualification or equivalent professional experience.
* SC security clearance (or eligibility to obtain).
