Are you passionate about making a real difference in people's lives? We're looking for an experienced and caring Mental Health Recovery Worker to join our dedicated team at Step up, Yeovil – a CQC Registered home supporting with severe and enduring mental health challenges.
About the Step Up Service – Yeovil, SomersetThe Step Up service provides short‑term support for adults (18+) experiencing an acute mental health crisis. The service offers six beds within a safe, homely environment that includes shared kitchen and lounge spaces. Staffed 24/7 in partnership with Somerset Foundation NHS Trust, the team delivers person‑centred emotional support, guidance, and practical help. Individuals are supported to develop or re-establish coping strategies, engage in daily activities, and improve their overall safety and wellbeing during their crisis period.
What will you do?
Help individuals rebuild confidence and independence
Support service users in achieving personal goals
Provide one-to-one guidance and work alongside mental health agencies
Build respectful, honest relationships while maintaining professional boundaries
What we're looking for:
Experience supporting people with mental illness or in a social care setting (paid or voluntary)
Great listening skills, empathy, patience, and kindness
Ability to work with digital systems (Microsoft applications, email, internet)
A commitment to our values and willingness to learn
