Locum Consultant Clinical Oncologist – Sarcoma

Role summary: The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Consultant Clinical Oncologist to fill a 12‑month fixed‑term locum role within our Sarcoma multidisciplinary team. The post is a full‑time 10‑Professional Assessment (10PA) position based at the Chelsea site, with potential for work across the network.
Key responsibilities:
* Provide and coordinate the clinical oncology management of sarcoma patients (including those at RMH and networked hospitals), in collaboration with the multi‑professional team.
* Support the care of inpatients with sarcoma.
* Advise on clinical oncology aspects of treatment and care for colleagues in other specialties, general practitioners and partnership trusts.
* Participate in and support multidisciplinary care teams (medical oncologists, surgeons, junior staff, nursing, therapists, dieticians, social workers, palliative care and psychological support).
* Participate in multidisciplinary meetings reviewing histology, radiology and case discussions.
* Contribute to the research programme, including development of radiotherapy techniques and support for current and future clinical trials.
* Deliver education and training opportunities for specialist registrars in clinical oncology.
* Provide clinical leadership and support the development of sarcoma services, attending operational meetings.
Required experience and skills:
* Full eligibility as a Consultant Clinical Oncologist.
* Experience within sarcoma or related bone or soft tissue tumours.
* Demonstrated ability to coordinate multidisciplinary care and manage complex oncology cases.
* Experience in clinical trial participation and research activities is desirable.
