Health Care Support Worker for Designated Childrens Clinics

An exciting and rare opportunity has become available to join our Community Childrens Nursing Clinic Team. The post holder will work as part of a team that provides nursing services to patients within theCommunity Childrens Nursing Service Outpatients Clinics across Gwent.


Main duties of the job

The post holder will always adhere to the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Wales (WAG 2011) and the NLIAH (2010) All Wales Guidelines for Delegation.

The post holder is expected to work within clinical competencies with supporting base knowledge. They will have achieved anddemonstratedall the competenciesrequiredtoattaina level 3 healthcare qualification in line with the All-Wales Skills and Career Framework for Health Care Support Workers 2015.

The post holder is expected to independently manage their own work/case load, undertaking tasks delegated by a registered practitioner withappropriate supervisionin place.

The post holder willdemonstratean understanding of evidence-based practice and deliver care in line with current evidence, taking responsibility fortaking actionrelativeto an individual's health and carein accordance withorganisational policy and procedures.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification


Qualifcations

* Level 3 qualification in health and social care/childcare


Experience

* Previous experience of working with CYP and those with complex healthcare needs
* Experience of working in an NHS organisation.
* Venepuncture Trained


Knowledge

* Knowledge and understanding of the need for confidentiality
* Sound knowledge of safeguarding CYP
* Knowledge of the Healthcare Support Workers Code of Conduct


Skills and Ability

* Ability to carry out instructions accurately and efficiently
* Ability to travel to clinic locations
* Able to work independently / as part of a team and cope under pressure
* Ability to speak Welsh
