We’re working with a prestigious Suffolk based organisation to recruit a Management Accountant. Based in Ipswich and reporting to the Head of Finance, this role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills, gain exposure to senior stakeholders, and be part of a forward-thinking finance team in a supportive and well-established business.
This is the perfect role for someone looking to grow within a respected organisation while contributing to meaningful projects and continuous improvement across the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including journal entries, prepayments, accruals, and variance analysis.
2. Support the budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with department heads.
3. Maintain accurate financial records and schedules, including fixed assets, income, and expense reconciliations.
4. Produce management reports with commentary to support business decision-making.
5. Assist with cash flow forecasting and monitoring.
6. Support internal reporting processes and help improve efficiency and accuracy.
7. Assist in preparation for year-end accounts and audits, working alongside the Head of Finance.
8. Help ensure VAT returns and other compliance requirements are met.
9. Work on finance system improvements and reporting automation projects.
About You
10. Part-qualified or newly qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or qualified by experience.
11. Solid understanding of management accounting and financial processes.
12. Strong Excel skills and experience with cloud-based finance systems (Xero experience is an advantage).
13. Proactive and detail-oriented, with a problem-solving mindset.
14. Excellent interpersonal skills – confident communicating with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
15. Comfortable working from Ipswich and commuting to London one day per week.
