We’re supporting our client, a global, leading plastics manufacturer based in Sussex, who are looking for a Setter Technician to join their growing team. The successful Setter Technician will have a technical mould setting qualification and experience, as well as shift management/ team leadership experience.
Job Summary: As a Setter Technician, you will be responsible for all operations relating to the management of the Moulding Division, including people, production issue resolution, problem solving and driving efficiencies.
Responsibilities for Setter Technician:
* Management of the Production Team (Mould Shop) and the Packing Team (Packing Room), ensuring all team members work in a safe manner to execute their duties and follow agreed processes and instructions.
* Using defined documentation, set up production works orders across all moulding machines to adhere to the pre-agreed schedule, with a focus on quality, efficiency and a 'right first time' approach.
* Physical hanging and setting of mould tools across all machines in a safe and controlled manner.
* To monitor the quality of production, reporting any quality concerns at the earliest opportunity.
* Completion of quality and shift hand over documents as required
* To assign work in priority order to Mould Shop Setters & all Operatives on site, including the workflow through the Packing Team and the control of materials through the Support Staff.
* Taking the lead to maintain a safe working environment for all staff members
* Process Optimisation and efficient Troubleshooting
