This is an exciting opportunity in a role with the Traffic Management team. You will be managing the assessment and delivery of Disabled Persons’ Parking Places Act applications and processing applications for temporary road closures/restrictions for works and events. Working with a wide variety of stakeholders within and outside the Council, you will assess applications, identify solutions and discuss options with applicants, ensuring the delivery of an efficient and effective service to our customers. Whilst most of the tasks can be undertaken in the office or working from home, the role requires participation in site visits and meetings, so you should be able to travel across Fife at short notice.

The Person
We are looking for someone who is organised and motivated with good communication skills alongside office experience in an appropriate field such as Roads, Transportation, Environment, Road Safety, Community Engagement or Marketing/Promotion.
You should be educated to SCQF level 5, which includes National 5 or SVQ level 2 or Standard Grades at credit level including Maths and English at level 3 or above, or equivalent.
A strong record of team working and meeting deadlines, coupled with experience of managing your own workload are also essential.
Knowledge of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, the Roads Scotland Act and other supporting legislation as applies to the implementation of restrictions, traffic orders and other interventions on the public road is desirable.
