Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Screening Nurse to join our Health, Work and Wellbeing Department. The post holder will be required to provide appropriate Occupational Health and Wellbeing advice to staff and managers. The post holder will assist in the delivery of a safe, effective, quality occupational health service. The post holder will strive to deliver key public health messages to staff and managers and work as part of a wider multidisciplinary team to ensure the organisation delivers 5-star patient care. Supporting and driving change within the Occupational Health specialty with a flexible approach to hours and place of work depending on service needs. The JD & PS are currently under AfC review and are subject to change.
Responsibilities
* Apply Occupational Health knowledge, principles and practice to assess clients both at pre-employment and during employment
* Duty nurse- including Management of exposure to body fluids and Sharps and outbreak management.
* To contribute to the delivery of proactive, efficient, confidential, and effective evidence based Occupational Health service for all users.
* Screen clients in relation to identified infectious disease risk and offer vaccination or advice as appropriate
* Administration of Vaccines
* Support and assess clients who have sustained occupational exposure to blood and bodily fluids in line with trust policy.
* Provide advice, screening and treatment (within parameters of approved Patient Group Directions), to clients regards work related infectious diseases exposure/contact.
* Facilitate and support clients in accessing Wellbeing Hub services
* Undertake peripatetic clinic work at various sites that will require transporting notes and equipment (manual handling)
* Support the delivery of Vaccination campaigns and other Occupational Health relevant public health campaigns in line with National guidance
* Work unsupervised within limits of competency

Specialist Regional Services: We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.
