Transport Planner

Up to £33,000 per annum (d.o.e)
40 hrs per week – will consider applications for either Monday – Friday or 4 on 4 off
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Transport Planner to join a well-established business based in Telford. This is a permanent role within a collaborative and supportive team, where you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient scheduling of vehicle operations to meet customer delivery expectations.
As the Transport Planner you will be getting involved in…
• Planning and scheduling routes for a fleet of vehicles to ensure timely deliveries
• Supporting the Transport Manager with day-to-day transport operations
• Ensuring all vehicle routing is optimised for efficiency and cost-effectiveness
• Liaising with customers to understand and plan for future delivery requirements
• Allocating jobs to drivers and managing daily transport schedules
We’re looking for someone who…
• Has recent experience in a Transport Planning role, ideally within a busy logistics or distribution environment
• Is confident managing schedules for a large fleet of vehicles
• Possesses knowledge of driver working time regulations
• Is flexible and willing to work as part of a rota, including weekend cover when required (if working a Monday- Friday pattern)
• Demonstrates excellent organisational and communication skills
• Has previous experience as a Transport Planner / Route Planner / Transport Route Planner / Transport Planning Coordinator / Logistics Planner / Route Coordinator / Logistics Coordinator
