Markets Operations Belfast Overview:
Our Operations groups are core to the success of the Markets business. We support a wide range of internal stakeholders including Front Office Sales and Trading Desks, Compliance, Legal, Finance and HR; alongside having significant interaction with external clients, playing a key role in the overall client experience.

Role Overview
The Operations Intermediate Analyst role involves working in the Asset Servicing team, the group responsible for the management of mandatory and voluntary Income and Corporate Action events, across equity and fixed income products. These include cash distribution events such as cash dividends/coupons, or the exchange of stock and cash on more complex corporate actions like rights issue or takeovers. The team is responsible for ensuring any proceeds from these income or corporate action events are posted to our clients and trading desks in both an accurate and timely manner.
What you'll do:
1. Plan and execute daily assigned activities efficiently, adhering to set internal or regulatory deadlines. Ensure processes have been followed and confirm completion of workplan each day.
2. Investigate any issues that may arise and direct them to the appropriate department and collaborate on solutions.
3. Support the preparation and submission of internal and external regulatory reports.
4. Identify procedure gaps and make suggestions for process transformation including reducing manual processes.
5. Apply a good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the wider team/working group.
6. Effectively communicate and collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders, with whom you may exchange potentially complex/sensitive information to progress work and resolve issues.
7. Participate in the training and mentoring of new employees within your team.
8. Be involved in the user testing of new technology enhancements and identify and escalate any issues.
9. Learn and understand the products, rules, regulations, procedures, and controls that have been put in place to minimise risk to Citigroup, its clients, and assets, and apply them appropriately.
10. Perform other duties as assigned by your line manager.
What we'll need from you:
11. Evidence of ability to perform multiple tasks and work towards deadlines.
12. Able communicator who is articulate and concise and can demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
13. Ability to perform a range of tasks/projects and assist with the training of other team members in process and systems compliance.
14. Comfortable working in a team environment and using own initiative in recommending improvements to existing processes.
15. Able to drive own performance and willing to learn.
16. Can manage time effectively.
17. Has a creative and structured approach to problem solving.
18. Proficient in MS Office (Excel and Word)
19. Self-reliant, good problem solver, and results oriented.
20. Strong attention to detail.
21. Ability to partner with other teams to provide innovative solutions.
22. Relevant experience in an organizational or administrative role will be advantageous.
Education:
23. GCSE English & Maths at Grade C and above.
