The Role
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in managing the financial and contractual aspects of our groundworks projects. Based in the South West, you will work closely with our project teams to ensure cost efficiency, quality delivery, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and forecasts.
* Oversee procurement, including subcontractor agreements and material sourcing.
* Conduct detailed cost analysis, risk assessments, and value engineering.
* Manage contract administration, including valuations, variations, and final accounts.
* Collaborate with project managers, site teams, and clients to ensure seamless project delivery.
* Provide mentorship to junior surveyors and contribute to team development.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
What We're Looking For:
* Experience: Minimum of 10 years as a Quantity Surveyor, with a strong background in groundworks (e.g., foundations, drainage, earthworks, and infrastructure).
* Qualifications: Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Skills:
* Expertise in cost management, contract negotiation, and commercial awareness.
* Proficiency with industry software (e.g., Causeway, Excel, or similar).
* Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
* Attributes: Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
* Location: Willingness to be based in the South West of England, with occasional travel to project sites.
