Job Title: Teacher of Humanities Maternity Cover
Montpelier High School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and inspiring Teacher of Humanities (History and Religious Studies) to join our dedicated team on a maternity cover basis. This is an exciting opportunity for an excellent classroom practitioner to teach across the Humanities curriculum and make a real contribution to a vibrant and ambitious school community.
We are looking for a teacher who is passionate about their subject, committed to high standards, and able to inspire curiosity, critical thinking and confidence in young people. The successful candidate will join a supportive faculty with a strong collaborative culture and a shared commitment to delivering excellent outcomes for all students.
There is also the possibility of teaching A Level Sociology and/or Psychology for a suitably qualified candidate, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their experience across Key Stages 4 and 5.

Key responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive Humanities lessons that promote curiosity, critical thinking and academic excellence.
Create a supportive classroom environment aligned to the school's values of kindness, hard work and courage.
Assess, track and monitor student progress, providing targeted feedback to ensure all learners succeed.
Adapt teaching to meet the needs of diverse learners, including SEND and disadvantaged students.
Pay range:
M1 - M3 - £32,916.00 - £37,101.00
Full Time, Fixed Term
Maternity Cover (approx. 9 months)
Qualifications and Skills:
Qualified Teacher Status
Strong subject knowledge of History and Religious Education
Excellent classroom management
Skilled in planning differentiated lessons
