Job Title Salaried General Practitioner (GP) Location GP Practice, Harrogate, North Yorkshire Contract Type Salaried Position – Full-time and Part-time opportunities available Reports To Clinical Director / Senior Partner / Practice Manager Job Summary We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Salaried General Practitioner to join our friendly and supportive GP practice in Harrogate. The successful post holder will provide high-quality, patient-centred primary medical care, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to meet the needs of our practice population in line with NHS standards and best clinical practice. Key Responsibilities Clinical Responsibilities Provide comprehensive general medical services to registered patients Conduct face-to-face, telephone, and remote consultations as appropriate Assess, diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic conditions Prescribe medications in accordance with clinical guidelines and practice protocols Manage patients with long-term conditions in line with QOF and local pathways Undertake home visits where required Review and action clinical correspondence, pathology results, and hospital letters Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records using the practice clinical system Quality, Governance & Safety Adhere to GMC standards, NHS policies, and clinical governance requirements Participate in clinical audits, significant event analysis, and quality improvement activities Support QOF achievement and enhanced services delivery Comply with safeguarding policies for children and vulnerable adults Maintain up-to-date mandatory training and professional revalidation Team Working & Communication Work collaboratively with partners, salaried GPs, nurses, HCAs, pharmacists, and wider PCN staff Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and clinical discussions Contribute to a positive practice culture and support team wellbeing Support and mentor trainees, students, or junior staff where appropriate Professional Development Maintain continuous professional development (CPD) in line with GMC requirements Participate in annual appraisal and revalidation processes Engage with learning opportunities within the practice and Primary Care Network (PCN) Person Specification Essential Criteria Fully qualified GP with GMC registration and licence to practise Completion of GP training (CCT) or equivalent Included on the NHS England GP Performers List Strong clinical, communication, and decision-making skills Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-focused care Desirable Criteria Experience working in UK general practice Special interest (e.g. minor surgery, dermatology, women’s health, elderly care) Experience supporting QOF and quality improvement initiatives Trainer or mentor experience Working Hours & Sessions Flexible number of sessions available Session structure and workload to be discussed at interview Supportive approach to work-life balance Salary & Benefits Competitive salaried package (dependent on experience and sessions) NHS pension scheme Annual leave and study leave entitlement CPD and training support Indemnity cover provided or supported (as agreed) Equality & Diversity The practice is committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion and welcomes applications from all backgrounds.
