Timeout Children's Homes is an independent organisation which provides therapeutic residential childcare for children aged 6 - 17 years who have suffered abuse and neglect in their lives. The organisation was established in 2004 and has since grown organically and safely to provide only outstanding or good services.
Our current clinical team work holistically with our care and education teams to achieve the best possible outcomes for the child/young person through cross-departmental systemic work.
About the Role
We are seeking a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT Therapist) to provide high-quality, evidence-based therapeutic support to children and young people in care and those attending specialist schools. This role focuses on supporting individuals who may present with complex emotional, behavioural, and mental health needs, including trauma-related difficulties, anxiety, depression, and neurodevelopmental differences.
You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, carers, education staff, and external professionals to deliver formulation-driven interventions that promote emotional wellbeing, resilience, and improved functioning across home and school environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver individual CBT assessments and interventions to children and young people in care and specialist educational settings
* Develop and implement formulation-driven treatment plans based on CBT models
* Work collaboratively with carers, teachers, social workers, and other professionals to ensure integrated support
* Provide psychoeducation and consultation to school staff and care teams
* Maintain accurate clinical records in line with professional and organisational standards
* Contribute to safeguarding processes and risk management planning
* Participate in clinical supervision and continuing professional development
Essential Requirements
* Accredited CBT Therapist (BABCP accredited)
* Postgraduate qualification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
* Experience working with children and young people, particularly those with complex needs
* Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and safeguarding procedures
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Strong communication and formulation skills
Desirable
* Experience working with children in care or looked-after children services
* Experience working within specialist schools or educational settings
* Training in trauma-focused CBT or related approaches
