Introducing Hannah
Hannah is a bright, intelligent young woman born in 2005, with a strong interest in learning and a love for staying active. She lives at home with her close-knit family, who play an important role in her life, and shares a close relationship with her brother, who has since moved out.
Currently attending university, Hannah thrives in academic environments and enjoys expanding her knowledge about the world. She's a great listener and finds joy in hearing about other people's experiences.
In her free time, Hannah enjoys swimming and socialising. She regularly attends a monthly "Ladies That Lunch" event and is a member of a local club where she explores different sports and activities.
Hannah has a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy which affects all four limbs. She uses an AAC Grid 3 for communication, you will need to allow her time to answer questions that are posed. There are a team of Support Workers currently in place and for transfers and personal care require 2:1 assistance to maintain Hannah's comfort at all times.
About The Team Leader Role
As Team Leader, your primary focus will be to support Hannah in living a full, active, and fulfilling life. You'll play a key role in helping her maximise her independence and reach her potential, while ensuring her care and support are consistently delivered to a high standard.
You'll Be Responsible For
* Overseeing and coordinating a team of 24/7 Support Workers
* Managing rotas, cover arrangements, and day-to-day staffing needs
* Leading on inductions, appraisals, and supervisions
* Identifying training needs and ensuring staff are well-equipped
* Promoting Hannah's learning, wellbeing, and independence both at home and in the community
* Ensuring all care provided is safe, effective, and person-centred

* Main Skills and Behaviours You should have experience of working with someone who has Cerebral Palsy and be able to work with specialist equipment (training will be provided). A Handling Management Plan is available, but you may be required to bend, kneel, squat, push or pull.
* Naturally, you will be confident and comfortable working in Hannah's own home and sensitive to the needs and wishes of Hannah and her family.By nature, you should be friendly, approachable and have encouraging approach.
* Great organisational skills, punctual, patient, and reliable qualities are something Hannah will rely on, so this is key in supporting her.
* Water confident to assist with swimming and a full UK drivers' licence to enable you to drive the wheelchair adapted vehicle.

However, ILS will manage your day-to-day employment, providing you with the support you need to carry out your role. Working as a Carer or Support Worker for an ILS client means that you will have a dedicated Case Manager to oversee your client's care needs.
