Welcome to the accounting department, where everybody counts.
If you want to be led a fun and exciting Accounts department you’re in the right place! Are you motivated by balancing balance sheets, reviewing budgets and expenditure, or producing monthly, quarterly and full year end accounts? Ideal. You should have a proven track record in an accountancy role, ideally in the motor trade.
You will need to be business savvy, articulate, investigative and organised. You will work with a wide team and with the support of our Financial Business Partners.
Job responsibilities
* Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, support period‑end closings and financial analysis.
* General Ledger & Reconciliation: Maintain the general ledger, reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet items.
* Accounts Payable/Receivable: Oversee vendor payments and customer collections, resolve billing discrepancies.
* Inventory & Cost Accounting: Track vehicle/parts inventory, perform floor plan reconciliations.
* Compliance & Controls: Ensure adherence to policies, GAAP and tax regulations, support audits and internal controls.
* Tax & Filing Support: Assist with tax reporting (sales, property, income), liaise with auditors as needed.
* Management Support: Provide financial insights and assist with budgeting and forecasts.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have prior experience with high fleet account volumes. Experience in the motor trade is preferred but not essential. Proactive, dynamic, detail‑oriented and confident.
Previous experience using Pinewood, Kerridge or other dealer systems is advantageous but training will be provided.
