* Roles and Responsibilities
In the 12-month placement in
* Digital Technology (DT) you'll gain hands-on experience in IT operations, project management, data analytics, and software development. You'll work on exciting projects to improve business processes, support IT systems, and drive digital transformation.
We have different types of roles in this area; here is a brief snapshot into each: +
* Digital Technology in Cardiff. In this role, you will play a key part in developing a Digital Toolset to drive productivity within the business functions. You will lead various projects utilising applications from the GE Toolset and new Analytics Tools. You will partner with these business functions to understand requirements and translate these into Operational Tools.

* Digital Technology in Caledonian you will work on development of Microsoft M365 non-coreload tools and integration into manufacturing and office processes.

* DT Technology and Operations Team at Cheltenham specifically focused globally on Shop Floor MES and Quality Systems. The role will offer a mix of Software development and deployment of MES Software at manufacturing sites.

* Digital Technology at Dowty,you'll gain invaluable skills and experience, providing support to the business on all IT support services (Operations, Project Management & Data Analytics).

* Cyber Security at Cheltenham. Across the year you will experience five key areas within Cyber. These are Intelligence, Enterprise Vulnerability Management, Insider Threat. External Threat & Digital Forensics
This placement is perfect for students who want to grow their skills and gain valuable experience in digital technology. You will be guided by structured goals and objectives and will have responsibility to deliver on inspiring projects supported by your People Leader and team around you. We will guide you throughout the year to ensure you make the best of your GE Aerospace experience. Your People Leader will offer coaching and mentoring, and you will be provided with the opportunity to connect with other placement students across the UK., UK Security Clearance (SC) may be required and maintained for some of our placement roles. Due to the nature of work, some of these roles are restricted to candidates who are a British National, or a dual National where one of the dual nationalities is British subject to any restrictions. Candidates who do not meet the minimum requirements for UK Security Clearance will therefore not be eligible for some of our roles on grounds of national security. If UK Security Clearance is not obtained for some roles, any offer of employment may be withdrawn on grounds of national security.

* GE Aerospace Wales specialises in the maintenance, repair and overhaul of a range of commercial jet engines. The facility, based in Nantgarw, just north of Cardiff, occupies over 1.2 million square foot of workshop space and has two state-of-the-art aircraft engine test facilities, along with a significant repair capability - known as Component Repair Wales.
The site has the capability to provide maintenance, repair and overhaul services for a range of engine types - including the world's most powerful commercial aircraft engine the GE90-115B and the world's most popular commercial engine the CFM56. As one of the largest commercial aircraft engine maintenance facilities in the world, with annual sales of over $2bn, the business works with over 90 customers worldwide, including Emirates, TUI, Lufthansa, Delta, United, ANA and British Airways. In 2017, the Wales site was selected as the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul facility of choice for the GE9X; which will become the world's largest and most fuel-efficient jet engine when it launches into service. The business will benefit from a £5m investment from the Welsh Government to support the total £20m investment put forward by the business, to equip and upskill the facility to be ready to maintain the GE9X fleet when it enters service on the new Boeing 777X aircraft. * GE Aerospace Caledonian is a purpose-built aircraft engine overhaul facility, adjacent to Glasgow Prestwick International Airport. The Caledonian site was officially opened in 1980 and has since grown into a centre of excellence for Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) of CF6 & GEnx engine types. After each overhaul, the engines undergo intensive performance testing on site in our bespoke test cell, before returning to our global customer base ready for service.

* D owty, a GE Aerospace company, is based in Gloucestershire. It is a world-leading supplier of electronically controlled, composite propeller systems for A wide range of civil and military applications, including commercial airliners and military airlifters to multi-role seaplanes and marine hovercraft.
Key programs include the Lockheed Martin C-130J, the De-Haviland, Dash 8-400 and the Leonardo C-27J.
