Ateca Executive search is retained by a leading international private bank to identify an exceptional Senior Private Banker for its London office. The successful candidate will have a credible 3-year business plan to build a HNW/UHNW AUM portfolio, with seniority offered commensurate with the plan: Director level for plans targeting USD 250 million; Executive Director for USD 300-400 million; Managing Director for USD 500 million and above.
The Opportunity
* Manage and grow a book of UHNW and HNW private clients with wealth originating from or connected to the US and/or Latin American markets, including Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, and the wider region
* Serve as the primary trusted adviser for multi-generational family wealth, entrepreneurial liquidity events, and cross-border estate and succession planning
* Leverage a USD booking platform to deliver tailored investment solutions spanning equities, fixed income, alternatives, structured products, real estate, and philanthropy
* Drive new business origination through personal networks, referral pipelines, and proactive engagement with intermediaries and family offices
Key Requirements
* Minimum 8 years of private banking experience, with at least 5 years managing UHNW/HNW US or LATAM-origin clients
* A credible 3-year business plan to build a HNW/UHNW AUM portfolio of USD 250 million, drawn exclusively from individual and family wealth (no corporate, institutional, or retail clients). Seniority is offered in line with the plan: Director (USD 250M), Executive Director (USD 300-400M), Managing Director (USD 500M+)
* Deep familiarity with USD booking, US tax considerations (FATCA, FBAR, QI frameworks), and the regulatory landscape affecting Latin American cross-border wealth
* Fluency in English essential; Spanish and/or Portuguese a significant advantage
* Proven track record of consistent net new money generation and strong client retention
* FCA-registered or eligible to be registered
