Main assignment
As Press Shop Team Leader you will oversee day-to-day operations within our press shop. The role is split between hands-on press operation and leadership responsibilities. You will ensure safety, quality, and productivity targets are met while leading and supporting a team of press operators to achieve operational goals and objectives.
Responsibilities
As a Press Shop Team Leader, you are accountable for:
* Leadership Responsibilities:
o Lead a team of press shop operatives, providing guidance, support, and on-the-job training.
o Organise daily workload and ensure production schedules are met.
o Conduct start-of-shift briefings and end-of-shift handovers.
o Monitor team performance and report any issues to the senior supervisor.
o Act as first point of contact for press shop issues and escalate when necessary.
o Support continuous improvement and 5S activities on the shop floor.
o Ensure safety, quality, and housekeeping standards are maintained across the team.
* Operational Duties (Hands-On):
o Operating all equipment and machinery responsibly by following work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
o Working to achieve product, process and customer quality standards through awareness, understanding and consistent application of quality processes e.g. visual inspection, intervention process.
o Accurate and timely completion of production documentation (e.g. housekeeping rota, production works orders).
o First line maintenance of equipment to ensure its effective use.
What will you bring?
* Proven experience, working in a press shop environment.
* Strong understanding of press operation, die setting, and safety procedures.
* Previous leadership or team lead experience preferred.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
