Our client is seeking a practical and proactive Reliability Engineering Manager who thrives in a factory-facing role. This position does not have direct reports, but it requires a strong leader who can coach, influence, and develop the engineering and production teams to embed best-in-class reliability practices.
The Role
The Reliability Engineering Manager will take ownership of asset reliability strategy across a site that operates largely manual processes. You will be responsible for improving equipment uptime, developing preventative maintenance systems, and driving a structured asset care approach.
Working closely with Engineering, Production, and Site Leadership teams, you will act as the subject matter expert for reliability, supporting a culture shift towards proactive rather than reactive maintenance.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement site-wide asset care and reliability strategies

Improve OEE and reduce downtime through structured root cause analysis

Coach engineers and operators on best practice maintenance and asset ownership
*
Embed preventative and predictive maintenance principles
*
Analyse breakdown trends and identify continuous improvement opportunities
*
Support capital projects with reliability input
About You
*
Proven experience as a Reliability Engineering Manager or in a similar reliability-focused role within food manufacturing
*
Minimum 2 years’ experience in asset care systems and reliability strategy
*
Strong understanding of maintenance planning and continuous improvement tools
*
Comfortable working in a highly manual production environment
*
Hands-on, visible, and confident influencing cross-functional teams
*
Excellent problem-solving and coaching skills
