Job Description:
Applications are invited for a Research Associate in Oligonucleotide Disposition at the Centre for Applied Pharmacokinetic Research (CAPKR) within the Division of Pharmacy and Optometry. The position is fixed-term for 24 months. The successful candidate will establish novel in vitro assays to quantify siRNA uptake, distribution, and effects in primary cultured hepatocytes. These data will inform PBPK-PD models for predicting in vivo oligonucleotide disposition and effects. The research involves developing and exploring in vitro methods using techniques such as subcellular fractionation, live-cell imaging, RT-PCR, and ELISA.
The candidate will join the CAPKR research team on a project titled “Improving a priori PBPK modelling for translation of oligonucleotide disposition, tissue clearance, and durability of effect”. The ideal applicant should hold a PhD in biomedical or pharmaceutical research, with experience in establishing cell-based assays and molecular techniques like RT-PCR and ELISA. Experience with proteomic analyses, mathematical modelling, and working in multidisciplinary teams is desirable.
This research role requires applicants who are not EEA nationals or from exempt countries to obtain an ATAS certificate prior to applying for a UK visa under the Skilled Worker route.
