Deputy Home Manager - Sandstones Wallasey

Salary: £35,500 per annum
Contract type: 9 months fixed term
Are you an experienced Team Leader ready to take the next step in your career, or an established Deputy Home Manager looking for a new challenge? We are looking for a compassionate, motivated and people-focused individual to join our leadership team at Sandstones Wallasey and help deliver exceptional care experiences for older people.
This role will give you the opportunity to use your management skills. Your management skills will be used to ensure that a high level of quality care is delivered, using your knowledge in the safeguarding of vulnerable adults and regular audits and inspections of the care home.

About the Role
As Deputy Home Manager, you will play a key leadership role in supporting the Home Manager with the day-to-day running of the service, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality care. You will lead by example, inspire teams, and help create an environment where residents receive outstanding support tailored to their individual needs.
Key responsibilities include:
5. Supporting the operational management of the home and deputising in the absence of the Home Manager
6. Leading, coaching and developing care teams to deliver outstanding person-centred care
7. Overseeing care delivery, care planning, audits, and quality assurance processes
8. Supporting recruitment, supervision, training and performance management of colleagues
9. Managing staffing rotas and ensuring effective deployment of resources
10. Maintaining compliance with safeguarding requirements, legislation and regulatory standards
11. Conducting regular audits, inspections and quality checks to ensure continuous improvement
12. Supporting medication management and monitoring infection prevention and control practices
13. Building positive relationships with residents, families, healthcare professionals and external stakeholders
14. Supporting occupancy and promoting the home to prospective residents and families
About You
We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering exceptional care and confident leading teams in a fast-paced care environment.
You will ideally have:
15. Previous experience in a Team Leader, Senior Care, Deputy Manager or similar leadership role
16. Experience working within older people’s care settings
17. Strong knowledge of safeguarding, person-centred care and regulatory standards
18. Understanding of CQC requirements and quality standards within care services
19. Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills
20. Experience managing teams, supporting performance and creating positive cultures
21. A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail
22. Confidence working with audits, compliance and quality improvement initiatives
23. Relevant care qualifications or willingness to continue professional development
