Job Title: Area Site Technician
Location: Salisbury, Weymouth & Blandford
Hours of Work: 40 hours/week, typically Monday - Friday (Flexibility required 24/7). You will be part of a call-out team to ensure 24/7 coverage.
Salary: £39,093.85 per annum
Job Purpose:
This is a key position involving planned and reactive maintenance across multiple site locations. You will be the first point of contact for maintenance issues at your assigned sites, potentially requesting specialist attendance when necessary. The role involves technical repairs and PPMs, ensuring all compliance paperwork is current, and work is performed to high standards, efficiently and safely, in compliance with health and safety legislation.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Complete the PPM schedule within agreed timelines and ensure accurate paperwork.
2. Respond promptly to service requests, assess needs, and carry out repairs.
3. Prioritize maintenance and repairs to meet response times.
4. Maintain fire alarm systems and conduct emergency lighting tests and repairs.
5. Follow purchase order procedures.
6. Identify non-repairable faults and advise management with recommendations.
7. Ensure compliance documentation is maintained.
8. Inform site managers of repair issues affecting operations.
9. Carry out site surveys and reports as required.
10. Perform minor alterations and installations within your technical competence.
11. Complete general repairs and maintenance as directed.
12. Attend training to keep skills current with technical developments.
13. Adhere to health and safety policies.
14. Represent the company professionally and foster good relationships with colleagues and clients.
15. Participate in a 24/7 call-out rota.
16. Maintain quality standards and comply with management instructions.
People Responsibility:
Supervises AMT on technical works and PPM; responsible for building relationships with colleagues and customers; no direct reports.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Minimum GCSE/Standard Grade, ideally NVQ Level 3/City and Guilds 236 Part 1+2 or equivalent in electrical installation/maintenance.
* City and Guilds 2382 17th or 18th Edition.
* Experience with three-phase electrics.
* Ability to repair a wide range of electrical and mechanical equipment.
* Efficient and quality repairs and maintenance.
* Respond promptly to service requests.
* Meet PPM schedules.
* Maintain health and safety standards.
* Build good client and colleague relationships.
