Mechanical Manager – EQUANS
Equans is looking for a Mechanical Manager to join our team in Edinburgh on a permanent basis. This full‑time, 37.5‑hour week role offers a competitive salary, bonus, and benefits package.
Responsibilities
* Ensure all planned maintenance tasks are completed on time, meeting relevant Service Level Agreements, Key Performance Indicators, and standards.
* Oversee all reactive and associated works to be carried out within the required Service Level Agreements, KPIs, and standards.
* Maintain the health and safety of supervisors, engineering team, and service partners, including delivering toolbox talks and updates.
* Act as the first point of contact for escalations.
* Establish and maintain effective business relationships with key stakeholders.
* Ensure compliance with statutory safety requirements and Scottish Health Technical Memoranda (SHTM) and quality assurance requirements.
* Provide technical input and advice to the Project Team on assets within the mechanical manager’s remit.
* Advise and update regularly on the lifecycle requirements of all assets within the mechanical manager’s remit.
* Foster a collaborative approach between the helpdesk, supervisors, and engineering team.

Qualifications
* Apprenticeship in HVAC systems or equivalent training, experience and a working knowledge of these systems.
* Relevant formal technical & management qualification.
* Demonstrable experience in a previous management or supervisory position.
* Previous experience within a healthcare environment is highly advantageous.
* Hold or have held relevant appointed persons status (AP (Vent)).
* Working knowledge of the appropriate standards, including Scottish Health Technical Memoranda.
* City & Guilds 2079 is advantageous.
* Experience in fire damper testing.
* Membership of an appropriate governing body or institute (e.g., IHEEM).
* Relevant health & safety qualification (IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH General Certificate, CDM, SMSTS).
