Working with law enforcement and government, CODE provides investigative tools and develops technology to support complex investigations.
Job Description
Cybercrime & Forensic Services (C&FS) supports FIS investigations through forensic services, including digital evidence analysis and support for warrant executions.
Person Specification
* Responsible for critical elements of Digital Forensic Service within HMRC investigations.
* Ensure forensic work adheres to high standards and regulatory requirements.
* Lead and develop junior colleagues in lab work, analysis, and evidence presentation.
* Collaborate with investigation officers and management, providing technical advice.
* Support on-site operations, including search warrants, and assist with operational challenges.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading a team effectively, demonstrating leadership skills.
* Managing digital device seizures and forensic examinations.
* Maintaining the integrity and security of forensic exhibits.
* Following best practices and standards (ISO17025:2017, FSR Codes).
* Providing evidence for court proceedings.
* Communicating effectively with clients and colleagues.
* Managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
* Staying updated with digital forensic developments.
* Mentoring colleagues and educating about digital forensics.
* Participating in operational duties, including warrant executions and travel.
* Possessing demonstrable experience in digital forensic team leadership and software tools.
* Experience with digital device examinations and onsite acquisitions.
* Knowledge of legal procedures and standards.
* Handling sensitive and potentially distressing material appropriately.
* Willing to build a professional portfolio and obtain relevant memberships.
* Holding a full UK driving license and willingness to travel.
Desirable criteria include knowledge of criminal justice procedures, experience in law enforcement or legal environments, and court testimony experience.
Training requirements involve digital forensics training, occupational health assessments, and safety courses.
