The high-performing Transactional Real Estate team at Addleshaw Goddard is expanding in Leeds and looking for a Supervising Lawyer.
Role Overview
This role is not client-facing and does not involve managing your own files. Instead, it focuses on supervising junior lawyers (particularly those with 0-3 PQE), providing mentorship, and supporting their development. The supervising lawyer will offer supplemental supervision, typically on an ad hoc basis, and will not oversee entire matters from start to finish.
Candidate Profile
We seek a candidate with a strong track record in commercial property, interested in a role that emphasizes mentorship and development, including part-time options. This is the second supervising lawyer in the team, fostering a collaborative mini-team environment.
Team and Environment
The Leeds Transactional Real Estate team is part of one of the firm's largest groups, comprising over 200 professionals, including 6 partners and 40+ fee earners. The team is highly ranked and has received awards for its excellence.
Responsibilities
1. Supervise lawyers working on a variety of property transactions, including landlord and tenant, sales, purchases, development, and regeneration.
2. Contribute to the development of junior lawyers and support continuous improvement within the team.
3. Assist with larger projects and discrete tasks as needed.
4. Help maintain and develop client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
5. Participate in shaping the team’s growth and training initiatives.
Requirements
* At least 6 years of relevant experience in commercial real estate.
* Experience in mentoring or supervising junior lawyers.
* Strong legal drafting, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Enthusiasm for development and continuous learning.
