Job Description: Children's Occupational Therapist
We are seeking a qualified Children's Occupational Therapist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and providing interventions for children, working within a multidisciplinary team, and supporting children with special educational needs.
Qualifications and Requirements:
* Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
* Registered and compliant with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
* Awareness of typical child development
* Knowledge of Children's Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions, with an understanding of the theoretical framework underpinning these.
* Ability to analyse assessment results to formulate treatment plans, including the use of SMART targets, and recommend suitable equipment considering client, social, and environmental factors.
* Good multi-disciplinary/agency working skills
* Involvement of patients in decision-making regarding their care and treatment planning, ensuring safe care.
* Understanding of role responsibilities and ability to make timely decisions within the role.
Desirable Criteria:
* Experience working in the NHS, Local Authority, or community settings
* Understanding of the Special Educational Needs Assessment process and contribution to Education, Health and Care Plans
* Flexibility to meet the needs of the service and service users
* Experience in presenting and teaching staff, parents, and carers
* Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
