Welsh-Speaking Teaching Assistant – Year 5/6 | Cardiff

Pay: £89.38 – £95 per day (dependent on experience)
Are you a fluent Welsh speaker with a passion for supporting young learners? We’re currently seeking a committed and proactive Teaching Assistant to support a Year 5/6 class in a vibrant Welsh-medium primary school in Cardiff.
This is a full-time role starting in September 2025, running for the full academic year. You will work closely with the class teacher to support learning, deliver group interventions, and help create a positive and engaging classroom environment.
The Role:
* Supporting pupils in a mixed Year 5 and 6 class, both in groups and 1:1
* Assisting with lesson preparation and delivery in line with the Curriculum for Wales
* Encouraging the use of the Welsh language throughout the school day
* Supporting pupils with additional learning needs (ALN) where required
* Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive and positive classroom atmosphere
✅ About You:
* Fluent Welsh speaker – essential
* Previous experience working with children (in school, care or youth settings)
* Confident, approachable and supportive in your approach
* Able to use your initiative and work well within a team
* Committed to promoting a Welsh language environment
* A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
