GROUP INSTRUCTOR (TRAINEE INSTRUCTOR)\nThis role has been designed a starting position within the Centre from which suitable employees can progress to a full-time instructional role.\nTrainees work as Group Instructors (GIâs) 5-day week on a 6 week rotation: 2 weeks on domestic work, and 4 weeks on the instructional team.\nThe role also involves doing a Modern Apprenticeship in Sports Coaching at\nLevel 2.\nDomestic role (07:30-12:30 and 17:45-19:45) Duties include: cleaning, laundry, serving of food and washing up. During the 2 days off per week and free afternoons there will be the opportunity to participate in activities offered by the Centre. 2 weeks out of 6 will be spent in this role.\nInstructional role (08:50-17:00) Each GI is assigned to a group of up to 8 clients for the entire length of the clientâs stay and are responsible for the pastoral care of their own group throughout the course. During an activity where the GI has achieved the NGB instructional qualification or relevant in-centre training and a valid 1st aid certificate, the GI will take sole charge of the group. During activities where the appropriate qualification/training has not yet been achieved, the GI will work as an assistant to the qualified instructor. 4 weeks out of 6 will be spent in this role.\n Completion Objective:\n* SVQ SCQF level 6: Sports Coaching\n* 7-11 months work experience in Outdoor industry.\n* Core and Meta Skills\n* BASP 2-day 1st aid certificate; Sport Scotland CWPS, SCA PSRT & PSI; Archery GB Instructor.\n* Personal skill certificates in: SCA Paddle Sports, RYA Dinghy sailing.\n* Logged experience of: Mountain days, climbs, mountain bike days.\n* Knowledge of: Personal protective clothing & equipment; navigation; weather; Health & safety & incident There are no minimum qualifications required but we do require experience in a broad range of activities and a willingness to work hard alongside qualified instructors in order to progress.
