Overview
This Principle Contractor delivers a range of Commercial Office and Light Industrial Construction & Fit Out Projects. With ambitious plans to grow they are looking to appoint a Construction Director / Head of Construction with substantial UK Construction experience. Working closely with the MD the role is hands on encompassing day to day construction operations management whilst also helping drive the strategic direction of the business.
Responsibilities
* Managing a team of Contract & Project Managers with duties including, but not limited to:
o Develop project delivery strategy, manage project budgets, control costs, secure resources, and ensure profitability.
o Manage all project phases, monitor progress, ensure adherence to project plans, and coordinate logistics.
o Recruit, motivate, develop, and manage construction teams, ensuring high performance.
o Oversee the logistical requirements of each project.
o Act as the primary contact & meet regularly with clients and third parties to report on progress.
o Set targets, objectives, & responsibilities for the Project Delivery team.
o Regularly review timescales, project budgets, labour, risk and project plans to ensure projects stay on track.
o Recommend and implement Project delivery improvements.
o Ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled.
o Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality work within contract timescales.
o Deal with contract disputes as they arise and mitigate the impact of any issues.
o Work closely with Bid & Tender team to win work.
o Partner with the Managing Director to develop & implement a strategic business & growth plan.
Requirements / Qualifications
* The company is looking for someone who is working as a Contracts Manager/Director, Head of Construction, Construction Director or Senior Operations Manager/Director.
* The individual will have worked for a Principal Contractor or Main Contractor, and MUST have delivered Construction Projects within the UK Commercial office/Light Industrial sectors.
* The successful candidate will have outstanding Client Management skills, strong commercial acumen, and a strategic approach.
Package
Base salary £110k-£135k DOE, with executive car/car allowance, pension, private medical and a performance bonus, 25 days holiday + bank holidays.
