About the Role
The business is a leading UK-based precision engineering and manufacturing business producing low volume, high value components for demanding applications. They are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to help take their production capabilities to the next level - improving accuracy, efficiency, and quality across their advanced machining and assembly operations.
You’ll play a pivotal role in developing and implementing best practices, leading process improvement projects, and driving “best in class” principles through collaboration with R&D, NPI, engineering and procurement teams.
What You’ll Do
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing techniques.
* Lead projects to enhance cost, quality, and delivery performance across the machine shop and NPI processes.
* Partner with R&D on new product introduction, ensuring designs are optimised for manufacture.
* Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and process documentation.
* Evaluate new technologies, justify capital investment, and implement modern tooling and methods.
* Support “make or buy” decisions to ensure strategic sourcing and efficiency.
About You
* Degree-qualified in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (BSc/MSc or equivalent).
* Proven experience in a precision engineering or electro-mechanical environment.
* Strong understanding of lean principles, problem-solving tools, and process improvement.
* Confident communicator and collaborator with R&D, design, and production teams.
* Skilled in project planning, with excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
* Experience with CNC machining, SolidWorks CAD/CAM, or metrology is desirable.
