Responsibilities
* Draft, negotiate, and review all kinds of contracts, collaborating with our Senior Legal Specialist and other teams across the business – from contracts with our clients, to supplier agreements, to contracts with the world’s biggest brands.
* Develop our contracting strategy, including tools to make things easier for everyone.
* Oversee our data protection strategy and processes, assisting teams with data protection questions and providing training when required.
* Provide product counselling, from IP to regulatory assessments.
* Support our risk management strategy and help us adapt this as the company evolves.
* Jump into other projects when needed, like helping us with our ambitious international expansion plans.
* Stay up-to-date on the latest legal and regulatory developments affecting Tillo and deliver training to the teams.
* Project manage key initiatives, working collaboratively with teams across the business and managing external counsel.
* Be a trusted adviser for day-to-day legal and business queries – whatever comes your way.
Working arrangement
This is a hybrid role where you would be expected to work from our Hove office twice a week. Our Hove office is right next to the train station with direct trains from/to London in just over an hour. The rest of the time, you can work remotely or wherever you feel most productive.
Required Knowledge, Skills And Experience
* Qualified solicitor, with around 6 years’ PQE or lots of hands-on in-house experience in a fast-paced environment.
* You’ve worked in a start-up or scale-up fintech environment and are willing to research/learn how regulation impacts Tillo.
* You have strong experience in contract drafting and negotiation.
* You’re pragmatic and know how to balance legal risks with commercial realities.
* You’re excited about using technology to make legal processes better and faster.
* You stay calm under pressure and are happy juggling different priorities in a fast-paced environment.
