Looking for a SEMH Teaching Assistant in Dinnington! Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant Location: Dinnington Salary: £460 – £600 per week Contract Type: Full-time, long-term / Day-to-day Start Date: Immediately Are you passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and helping them thrive in a structured school environment? A supportive and nurturing school in Dinnington is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team. About the School: The school provides a calm, inclusive and supportive environment for pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support. Staff work closely together to create a consistent and understanding approach, ensuring pupils feel safe, respected and ready to learn. There is a strong focus on relationship-building, emotional regulation and personalised support to help every learner succeed. About the Role: As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils with a range of social, emotional and behavioural needs. You will help students regulate emotions, re-engage with learning, and develop positive coping strategies while supporting them both in and out of the classroom. Responsibilities: Support the class teacher in delivering lessons and structured activities Work closely with pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis Assist in managing challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent manner Support pupils in developing emotional regulation and engagement in learning Help create a safe, structured and positive learning environment Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding pupil progress and wellbeing Requirements: Experience working with children or young people, ideally with SEMH needs Strong communication and relationship-building skills A calm, patient and resilient approach Ability to de-escalate situations and support positive behaviour A genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable learners This SEMH Teaching Assistant role is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people within a supportive Dinnington school.
