Are you a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant looking to make a meaningful impact in a Year 2 classroom? We are currently recruiting passionate and committed TAs to support local primary schools across Newcastle.
As a Year 2 Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning, helping children progress confidently through their final year of Key Stage 1 in a warm, engaging, and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Year 2 class teacher in delivering high-quality lessons and learning activities.
* Provide targeted support to individual pupils and small groups to help raise attainment and confidence.
* Assist with classroom preparation, organisation of resources, and effective behaviour management.
* Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
* Work collaboratively with teachers and wider school staff to ensure pupil progress, welfare, and wellbeing.
Requirements
* Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) – essential.
* Experience working with KS1 pupils, ideally within Year 2.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Full-time availability, Monday to Friday (8:30am–3:30pm).
* Access to your own vehicle and willingness to travel between schools if required.
* A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
