Position: Controller- Custom Home Builder

Office is West Palm Beach, FL 33401
The Controller oversees all financial operations for the custom home building company, ensuring accurate accounting, financial reporting, and budget management. Responsibilities include overseeing job costing, managing cash flow, preparing monthly financial statements, monitoring project profitability, and ensuring compliance with tax and regulatory requirements. The Controller also collaborates with project managers, ownership, and external partners to provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making and business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
• Full-cycle accounting and financial reporting
• Job cost accounting and project profitability analysis
• Budget preparation and variance analysis
• Cash flow management and forecasting
• Oversight of AP/AR, payroll, and general ledger
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant regulations
• Liaise with external auditors, banks, and tax advisors
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of accounting experience in construction or homebuilding
• Strong knowledge of job costing and percentage of completion accounting
• Proficiency in construction accounting software (e.g., Sage 300, Buildertrend)
