Main duties of the job The University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS) has a unique and exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Associate Operations Manager to join the Endoscopy team at UHS. We are looking for a motivated and passionate person, with experience in Endoscopy or operational management to join our team in this role. About The Team This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fully JAG accredited Endoscopy department as the AOM to support the service in local and national service development opportunities. Our Endoscopy service runs 7 Endoscopy suites daily including some weekend lists, offering therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. The service is always expanding, and more complex therapies are being brought to the service to offer patients an alternative to other more invasive procedures. The role will support UHS Endoscopy in leading and managing the admin team, ensuring adherence to local and national targets, leading on JAG accreditation and other roles detailed in the Job Description. Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities As the AOM, you will work closely with the multidisciplinary team, key stakeholders and wider services. You will work alongside the band 8 Service manager, the nursing team leads, the matrons and CGM as well as the clinical lead to identify areas for growth and development, to establish, develop and support pathway development within the department whilst continuing to ensure the effective capacity utilisation of the department day to day supporting the wider clinical and admin teams. You will work alongside the teams to support delivery of wider departmental operational plans to help take the service forward as a team. What We Are Looking For The successful candidate will need to have clear experience in an operations role preferably an established background of Endoscopy or similar wide MDT style service. You will be an enthusiastic, organised and self-motivated person who aspires to deliver high standards of care and supporting others in their development. You will need to have an excellent level of written and verbal communication skills. Good IT skills, telephone skills and the ability to project manage and problem solve to are also vital.
