Vertu Motors - Marketing Automation Specialist Location: Rotterdam House, Gateshead Salary: Up to £35,000, depending on experience Summary The Marketing Automation Specialist plays a key role in supporting the delivery, optimisation, and maintenance of marketing automation solutions. Sitting within the Technology Management workstream of Marketing Automation, this role is part of a fast-growing and innovative area of marketing where we are aiming to be ahead of the curve in leveraging intelligent technology to drive performance. This role supports marketing teams by enabling workflow efficiencies, reducing manual effort, and ensuring scalable, compliant automation aligned with marketing KPIs. The Automation Specialist will collaborate across data, engagement, and technology teams to ensure smooth operations and continuous improvement of automation processes. Key Purpose Automation Workflow Support: Assist in the development, implementation, and optimisation of marketing automation workflows and platforms (e.g., CDP, CEP). Efficiency Improvement: Identify opportunities to automate manual marketing processes, supporting teams to deliver more with less and increase speed-to-market. Platform Management: Support the day-to-day management and troubleshooting of marketing automation platforms, ensuring compliance, scalability, and security. Collaboration: Work with data and engagement teams to integrate insights into automation workflows and operationalise journey designs. Reporting & Insights: Support the delivery of dashboards and reports on automation performance, campaign execution, and workflow efficiency. Compliance & Best Practice: Ensure all automation activities adhere to compliance standards and follow best practice guidelines. Continuous Improvement: Contribute ideas for improving automation processes, platform usage, and team productivity. Stakeholder Support: Provide technical support and guidance to marketing teams, helping them leverage automation tools effectively. CDP Knowledge Support: Act as a source of knowledge for the Customer Data Platform (CDP), supporting the team with platform understanding, documentation, and operational queries. Crisis Control Process: Help establish and maintain a robust crisis control process for automation workflows, ensuring rapid response and resolution in the event of platform or campaign issues. Essential Criteria Technical & Analytical Skills Technical Aptitude: Experience with marketing automation platforms (e.g., ESPs, CEPs) and workflow automation tools. Process-Oriented: Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively. Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret data and performance metrics to inform improvements. Communication: Clear communicator, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Team Player: Collaborative approach, working effectively with cross-functional teams. Problem-Solving: Proactive in identifying and resolving issues in automation workflows. Continuous Improvement: Demonstrates a natural curiosity and eagerness to learn, with a drive to continuously improve processes, tools, and personal knowledge. Experience 3–5 years’ experience in CRM, marketing operations, or automation. Experience collaborating with marketing, data, and technology teams. Core Marketing Skills – Operational Level Data-driven mindset with strong attention to detail. Ability to translate data into commercially relevant audience strategies. Skilled in managing multiple projects to deadlines and standards. Desirable Criteria Automotive sector experience. Experience with marketing automation tools. CIM qualification.
